Newly-wed Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain looked made for each other as they were greeting a number of high-profile guests at their Kolkata reception party on Thursday evening. A charming floral setu and multi-cuisine menu seemed added a cherry on top of all the glittery things.

The Bengali actress-turned-MP looked drop dead gorgeous in her wine-coloured velvet lehenga, whereas husband Nikhil Jain looked equally charming in dark-shaded velvet Bandhgala as the couple hosted the grand party at a city five-star hotel.

The gala reception, organized under heavy security, was also graced by none other than West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Nusrat’s best friend and fellow MP Mimi Chakraborty who looked like adorably sweet in a dark-green lehenga was always present right beside her bestie.

Prior to the evening reception, in the afternoon, Nusrat and Nikhil had attended the famous ISKCON Rath Yatra event along with Mamata Banerjee. The uniquely designed sewing-themed invite for the Kolkata reception was sent out earlier to a number of film directors, actors with whom Nusrat has worked, dignitaries from the field of politics along with family and friends.

The cuisine was a mix of Italian, Bengali, pure vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The vegetarian dishes were planned with great care keeping Nusrat’s in-laws' (who are Jains) guest list in mind.

The actress turned politician took special care of the Bengali delicacies as she is a big fan of Hilsa, prawn and bhetki. Guests were also treated with some delectable Biryani. We all know Nusrat has a sweet tooth so she personally took care of the desserts. Special Makha Sandesh from Basirhat was a part of the menu beside so many sweets fused with mangoes.

Just like her Kolkata reception party, the pretty actress had looked like a true traditional bride in a red designer lehenga when she tied the knot with her Kolkata-based businessman beau Nikhil Jain in the picturesque Turkish town of Bodrum on June 19.
