‘Bohurupi’ shoot wrapped! Ritabhari Chakraborty shares pictures from the set

Durga Puja is one of the most popular and auspicious slots for Bengali film releases since it attracts the audience to the theaters in large numbers. Filmmakers eye the Puja slot for the best from their bag. Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, the director duo of Tollywood, popularly known as Shibu-Nandita, are coming up with their offering ‘Bohurupi’ this puja. The shoot for the film has been wrapped. Actress Ritabhari Chakraborty recently took to social media to share an update with some photos from the set of the film.

Inspired by real-life incidents, Shibu-Nandita started planning for ‘Bohurupi’ in 2011. According to Shibu, the planning for ‘Bohurupi’ began right after their film ‘Muktodhara’. ‘Bohurupi’ aims to capture the timeline between 1998 and 2005 and is based on a chain of events that took place around that time. The shooting of the film commenced in March 2024.

Popular Tollywood actor Abir Chatterjee has paired up with actress Ritabhari Chakraborty in ‘Bohurupi’. The pair delivered a hit with Windows Production when they were cast together in ‘Fatafati’. Ritabhari, who is working for the third time with Windows and Shibu-Nandita, shared the news of wrapping the shoot of ‘Bohurupi’ and some photos along with it, expressing her gratitude. The film also stars Shiboprosad and Koushani Mukherjee in vital roles.

‘Bohurupi’s shoot has been nothing short of eventful. The shoot for the film started in Bolpur this March. In April, the director, Shiboprosad, met with an accident at the set of ‘Bohurupi’. The cast and crew were shooting for an action sequence of the film in Barrackpore when the accident took place. Shibu returned to the set within a few weeks.

Bohurupi is slated to be released during this year’s Durga Puja. The film will be clashing at the box office with Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka. Tekka will bring back Srijit’s collaboration with Dev after Zulfiqar. The film will also star Rukmini Maitra and Swastika Mukherjee in important roles.
