PM Modi’s ‘achhe din’ never arrived: Harish Rawat

NAINITAL: In his latest attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former state chief minister Harish Rawat slammed the PM for not delivering on his promises. While addressing a gathering during his road show in Nainital on Wednesday, he said, “PM Modi promised “achhe din” which never arrived. Youth has no jobs, farmers are resorting to suicide and our economy is in shambles. Rahul Gandhi ji has already announced economic scheme to uplift millions out of poverty.”
Accusing PM of undermining democracy, Rawat said, “The BJP-led government at the Centre tried to uproot my state government in 2016 by imposing President’s rule in the state.”
Amidst the chants of “Sabki chahat Harish Rawat” (everyone’s wish Harish Rawat), he met locals and enquired about their well-being.
In his 40-minute speech, he promised to address issues including, unemployment, migration from hills, policy reforms in tourism and agriculture, among others.
Responding to the reports of infighting within the party, Rawat said the party stands united and is poised to secure all five Lok Sabha seats of the state.
