In Jangipur, Chitta Mukherjee of BJP secured a comfortable victory, polling 91,201 votes and defeating TMC’s Jakir Hossain by a margin of 10,542 votes. Congress’ Mohammad Imran Ali finished third with 31,228 votes, as the constituency went in favour of the BJP.
