Kerala assembly polls: PM Narendra Modi to attend NDA campaign in Palakkad, Thrissur
PALAKKAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Palakkad and Thrissur on Sunday as part of his first phase of campaigning for NDA in Kerala. Modi will address a large public meeting at Fort Maidan in Palakkad in support of NDA candidates after landing at Coimbatore airport at 2.30 pm. Modi will then fly to Thrissur to participate in a roadshow at 4pm. He will arrive at the helipad of C Achutha Menon govt college in Kuttanellur and will be received by Union minister of state Suresh Gopi and other senior BJP leaders. He will travel by road to the city centre from where he will lead the roadshow at Swaraj Round which is completely closed to traffic. BJP officials said that the second round of his campaigning is likely on April 4, with programmes expected at Pala in Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram. The election rallies for the Pala, Poonjar, Kanjirappally and Vaikom constituencies will be planned in Pala on April 4. The Prime Minister's roadshow is also scheduled in Thiruvananthapuram city on the same day. Union ministers Amit Shah, J P Nadda, Rajnath Singh and BJP national president Nitin Nabin will also reach Kerala in the coming days to boost the NDA campaign.
