Alliance standings across Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Puducherry and Kerala
Counting is underway across four states and results are shaping up at a brisk pace. In Tamil Nadu, where 118 seats are needed for a majority in the 234-seat assembly, independent and smaller party candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 115 seats with 10 won and 105 leading, placing them just 3 seats short of the majority mark. SPA has a tally of 60 seats while NDA is at 55. In West Bengal, BJP is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 148 in the 294-seat house, holding a tally of 179 with 11 won and 168 leading. TMC trails with a tally of 106, having won 2 and leading in 104. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively lead in 8 seats in West Bengal. In Puducherry, NDA has crossed the majority mark of 16 in the 30-seat assembly, with a tally of 18 comprising 13 won and 5 leading. SPA has a tally of 5 in Puducherry. In Kerala, UDF is leading in enough seats to cross the majority mark of 71 in the 140-seat house, with a tally of 87 drawn from 68 won and 19 leading. LDF trails with a tally of 36, having won 30 and leading in 6. Candidates from other parties or independent candidates cumulatively hold a tally of 17 seats in Kerala.
