About the Examination
UGC NET is a national-level eligibility test conducted to determine:
• Eligibility for Assistant Professor posts
• Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
• Admission to Ph.D. programmes under the revised UGC framework

The result will contain:
• Marks obtained in Paper I and Paper II
• Aggregate score and percentile
• Qualification status (JRF / NET / Ph.D. only)

What Happens After the Result
Those qualifying for Assistant Professor eligibility can apply for teaching positions as and when vacancies are advertised. Candidates awarded JRF become eligible for funded Ph.D. programmes and research fellowships.
Under the new policy, even candidates without JRF can seek Ph.D. admission based on NET score and interview performance, subject to university norms.

Candidates should download and safely store their result and certificate once released. Universities and recruiting bodies may ask for the scorecard during admissions, interviews, or verification processes.
