Indian Navy Agniveer Apprentice recruitment 2026: Registration begins for 01/2027, 02/2027 batches; direct link to apply here
The Indian Navy has started the online application process for Agniveer (Apprentice) recruitment 2026 for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. Eligible unmarried male candidates can apply through the official website, joinindiannavy.gov.in.
The registration window opened today, June 5 at 10 am and will remain active until June 29, 2026, at 5 pm. The recruitment is being conducted for diploma holders in Engineering and Electrical streams.
Candidates must have passed the Matriculation examination with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks from a recognised board. They should also have completed a three-year diploma course from an All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)-recognised polytechnic institute with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks.
Eligible diploma disciplines include Marine Engineering and Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Power Plant Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, Metallurgy, Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and related fields.
Age limit
The recruitment process will begin with Stage I, the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2/2026, which is scheduled to be held in August 2026.
The computer-based examination will consist of 100 objective-type questions carrying one mark each. The paper will be available in both English and Hindi and will include sections on English and General Awareness, Science, Mathematics, and Diploma Trade-Specific subjects. The duration of the test will be one hour.
Candidates shortlisted through the INET examination will be called for Stage II, which includes a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), written examination, and recruitment medical examination.
Physical Fitness Test requirements
Candidates must complete a 1.6-kilometre run in 6 minutes 30 seconds. They will also be required to perform 20 squats, 15 push-ups, and 15 bent-knee sit-ups.
Applicants are required to pay an examination fee of ₹550 plus 18 per cent GST. The fee can be paid online through net banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI.
Selected Agniveers will receive a starting monthly package of ₹30,000 in the first year, with annual increments during the four-year engagement period. They will also be entitled to risk and hardship allowance, dress allowance, and travel allowance.
Under the Seva Nidhi scheme, candidates will receive a one-time corpus amount at the end of their four-year tenure. Agniveers will also be provided with a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh during their service period.
