Exploring how this Internship Carnival offered students exposure to new-age career choices
Delivering education in a dynamic, evolving world goes beyond the text. It is a lot more collaborative, even including tie-ups with global universities, organising workshops that enable students to assess whether they are ready for the world of work.
Oakridge International School hosted an Internship Carnival on 24 March on its campus, bringing together universities, learning partners, and industry-led organisations to help students explore real-world learning opportunities. The event also helped parents understand how internships support career clarity and curriculum breadth.
The Internship Carnival created a single platform where students interacted directly with representatives from leading universities and internship providers. Through conversations, demonstrations, and programme showcases, students learned how practical experiences such as research, design, technology, entrepreneurship, and social impact work complement academic learning and support student wellbeing and confidence.
Speaking at the event, Principal Anuradha Varma highlighted the value of hands-on exposure at school age. “Our goal is to help students understand how learning connects to the real world. Opportunities like internships allow them to experience professional work environments, build responsibility, and develop clarity about their interests before they make future academic choices,” she said.
Strong engagement reflects student curiosity and career awareness
Representatives from participating organisations noted the high level of student interaction throughout the day. One representative shared that students were curious, asked detailed questions about programme structures, and showed particular interest in creative and design-led fields such as UI and UX, product design, and communications.
The carnival also reflected Oakridge’s commitment to inclusive education by offering programmes across multiple interests and learning styles. From research paper writing and legal literacy to volunteering, psychology, robotics, and automotive 3D creation, students could explore paths aligned with academic strengths and personal passions.
Diverse partners supporting future-ready skills
The Internship Carnival featured a wide range of universities and organisations, including Vidyashilp University, WOXSEN University, Ashoka University, BuildUp Internships, Innings2, BOWER School of Entrepreneurship, MAEKIDO, VNR VJIET, MB Learning, Pearl Academy, CREYA Learning, Master’s Union, FLAME University, KREA, Tribes for Good, Ahmedabad University, and EZScholar.
Together, these partners showcased campus immersion programmes, entrepreneurship initiatives, STEAM education benefits, creative workshops, NGO and volunteering opportunities, data science, psychology, robotics, and interdisciplinary learning experiences. The variety ensured that every student could find an area that matched their curiosity and long-term aspirations.
Preparing students for a changing world
At Oakridge International School, global learning and real-world exposure form an essential part of the curriculum. Events like the Internship Carnival help students make informed choices, build confidence, and understand how skills such as collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving apply across careers.
