CORONAVIRUS IN DELHI

India national capital Delhi has reported 29 positive cases of coronavirus as of March 23. The first case of coronavirus was reported in Delhi on March 2, 2020, when a 45-year-old man from Mayur Vihar Phase-II who had travelled back from Italy was tested positive of COVID19. On March 4, a Delhi resident who worked in Paytm Gurgaon tested positive for COVID19 after returning from a vacation in Italy. The first death due to coronavirus in Delhi was reported on March 13 after a 69-year-old woman from Janakpuri who tested positive earlier day died. The woman had transmitted it from her 46-year-old son who had a travel history to Japan, Italy and Geneva, Switzerland. As a precautionary measure, the Delhi government has ordered that all educational institutions in the national capital including schools, colleges, institutes, and universities will be closed till March 31 in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The MHRD has also ordered to postpone all the board exams, entrance exams and university exams till March 31.. The govt has also ordered closure of all gyms, malls, cinema halls, and other public places. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on March 19, called for 'Janata curfew' on March 22 from 7AM to 9PM to contain the spread of coronavirus.
