Yogi to inaugurateflatted factory today
Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the state's second flatted factory complex at the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) on Wednesday.
Built at a cost of Rs 42.5 crore in Sector 13, the facility is aimed at boosting MSME growth and generating employment in the region. The plug-and-play industrial complex, spread over 2.68 acres, has been developed in line with the state govt's push to strengthen small and medium enterprises. After Kanpur, GIDA has become the second industrial area in the state to get such a facility. The four-storey industrial block houses 80 units of 97.51 square metres each, while a separate utility block contains 42 units for banks, warehouses, showrooms and allied services.
Entrepreneurs will be able to commence operations immediately after allotment, as essential infrastructure has already been provided.
According to GIDA CEO Anuj Malik, the project is expected to create direct employment for nearly 1,000 people and encourage sectors such as ready-made garments, information technology and pharmaceuticals.
During the event, the CM will also inaugurate and lay foundation stones for 71 infrastructure projects worth Rs 207.96 crore
across various industrial sectors. These include roads, drains, culverts, power infrastructure, waste management systems, water treatment facilities and sewerage networks.
The CM will also inaugurate a 96-flat EWS-LIG residential complex in Sector 11 for industrial workers. Developed at a cost of Rs 18.54 crore, the project comprises 48 EWS and 48 LIG flats, all allotted to GIDA workers through e-lottery.
