Ensure benefits of welfare schemes reach every needy: CM

Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed officials to ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen.

“From housing to medical treatment, from a daughter’s education and marriage to pensions for destitute persons and senior citizens, the govt has numerous schemes for every needy section of society. Applications should be facilitated for all eligible individuals so that the benefits of these schemes reach them,” he said.

Yogi, who arrived in Gorakhpur late Monday, met around 200 people and listened to their grievances during the Janata Darshan organised at Gorakhnath Temple on Tuesday morning.

Referring the grievance applications received during Janata Darshan to the administrative and police officials for redressal, Yogi instructed that all issues should be resolved in a timely, impartial and satisfactory manner.

He directed officials to show prompt sensitivity towards public grievances. As on previous occasions, some people came to Janata Darshan seeking financial assistance for medical treatment. The CM assured them that no one’s treatment would stop due to a lack of funds.

He instructed officials that the administration should promptly prepare and submit estimates for advanced medical treatment. As soon as the estimate is received, the govt will immediately provide the required funds.

During the event, a woman from Jaunpur alleged that an NGO had issued fake certificates and sought an investigation into the matter. The CM directed officials to conduct an inquiry and take necessary action.

Regarding complaints related to illegal land encroachment, Yogi instructed the police that if any influential person is illegally occupying someone else’s land, strict action should be taken against them.

The CM also showered affection and blessings on children who had accompanied their family members to Janata Darshan. Encouraging them to study diligently, he distributed chocolates to them.

CM performs gau seva

During his stay at Gorakhnath Temple, CM Yogi Adityanath also visited the temple’s gaushala on Tuesday and performed gau seva. He affectionately patted the cows and cattle and personally fed them jaggery and roti. He also instructed the gaushala workers to ensure proper care and upkeep of the cattle.
