Crocodile drags youth into river

Vadodara: A 22-year-old man was dragged into the Dev river by a crocodile near Kagdipara village on the outskirts of the city on Thursday afternoon.The victim, identified as Mithun Vasava, had reportedly gone to the river around 1.30pm to take a bath when the reptile attacked him. Eyewitnesses said the crocodile suddenly emerged from the water and dragged him into the river.Police said fire brigade teams and villagers immediately launched a search operation in the area, but Vasava had not been traced till late evening.The Dev river is known to have a significant crocodile population, and authorities have repeatedly cautioned villagers against entering the water.
