No freebies, no free schemes if NTK is elected: Seeman

Trichy: Criticising the state govt's cash assistance schemes and distribution of items for free, chief coordinator of NTK Seeman declared that he would not support such schemes if his party forms govt. He was addressing a gathering in Trichy district on Saturday. Seeman campaigned and addressed public meetings in constituencies including Trichy East, Mannachanallur, and Lalgudi in Trichy district, as well as Kulithalai and Krishnarayapuram in Karur district.Speaking at Marakkadai in Trichy, Seeman said the govt is distributing cash assistance schemes and free items using money collected from people's taxes. He emphasized that only education, healthcare, and drinking water should be provided free of cost, and his party would ensure these if elected to power. He said his party would provide uninterrupted electricity supply, but it would not be free. Addressing a gathering at Mannachanallur, Seeman criticized DMK for believing that women and students would vote for it in exchange for cash assistance such as Rs 1,000. "Who will provide for them after they graduate? Who will give them jobs after their education," he asked.Seeman alleged that political parties have been announcing more and more assistance and free items, which only led to corruption.
