Police arrest Bangladeshi couple for illegal stay
Thiruvananthapuram: Chavara police have arrested a Bangladeshi couple for allegedly entering the country illegally and residing in Kollam without valid documents.
The arrested are Gulsha Gali Melan Khan, 47, and his wife Mughal Khandal, 42, natives of Bagerhat in Bangladesh. The arrests were made during a search conducted by Chavara police based on confidential information.
Police said the couple had entered India without passports, visas or other valid documents and had been staying in the country for several years. Investigations revealed that they had been living in Kerala for the past 10 years, spending seven years in Chalakudy and the last three years in Karunagappally and Chavara.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Acts.
Police said the couple had entered India without passports, visas or other valid documents and had been staying in the country for several years. Investigations revealed that they had been living in Kerala for the past 10 years, spending seven years in Chalakudy and the last three years in Karunagappally and Chavara.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Immigration and Foreigners Acts.
