Man held with MD worth 2.89L

Surat: Lalgate police seized 96.46 grams of MD drugs worth Rs 2.89 lakh and arrested a man during a patrol in the area on Saturday evening.According to police, three constables were patrolling near Sopariwali Gali when they spotted a two-wheeler rider acting suspiciously. When signalled to stop, the man attempted to flee, prompting the police to chase and apprehend him.During a search, police found a plastic bag in his pocket, which was later confirmed to contain MD drugs.The accused was identified as Fahez Pathan, a resident of Rander. During interrogation, he told police that he had procured the contraband from Abhi Sanjay Singh, a resident of Variyavi Bazar area.Police have registered a case against both the accused under the NDPS Act and launched an investigation.
