Two killed, one injured after truck rams motorcycle in Amravati

Amravati: Two men died on the spot, and another was seriously injured after a speeding tipper truck hit the motorcycle they were riding near Aaradhana Chowk, close to Kathora Jakat Naka.The deceased have been identified as Tejas alias Golya Diwakar Mathurkar (20), a resident of Mahendra Colony, and Yash Kanojiya (21), a resident of Navsari. Their friend, Niraj Avinash Kokate, sustained severe injuries and is undergoing treatment.Police said the trio was riding a motorcycle on Kathora Road around 12:30am on Tuesday. A recklessly driven tipper truck rammed the bike near Aaradhana Chowk. Gadge Nagar police rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to the District General Hospital. Doctors declared Mathurkar and Kanojiya dead on arrival. Niraj Kokate remains under treatment.Gadge Nagar Police conducted a panchnama of the spot and registered a case against the truck driver. An investigation is underway. Postmortems of the deceased were performed Tuesday.
