Improved facilities, parking infra planned at Kalyaneshwar temple in Mahal

Nagpur: The historic Kalyaneshwar temple precinct in Mahal, one of Nagpur's oldest localities, will be redeveloped with improved facilities and planned parking infrastructure. A Rs121-crore tourism development plan was approved for the Hanuman Gadhi site in Amravati. The decision were taken at a meeting of the apex committee, held at Vidhan Bhavan, to review tourism development proposals for both the temple sites.
For Kalyanshwar temple, chief minster Devendra Fadnavis directed officials to prepare a development plan, create a systematic parking arrangement so that a large number of vehicles could be accommodated. Currently, the temple lacks a dedicated parking facility, often leading to congestion on the road in front of the shrine during peak hours and on special occasions. As per the proposal for the Hanuman Gadhi temple, it will be developed across 17,671 square metres, with multiple facilities for visitors and pilgrims. These include a Yagya Mandap modelled on the lines of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, along with an amphitheatre, food mall, craft centre, and akhara.The plan also includes construction of a Mahaprasad hall, multipurpose hall, and a Hanuman gallery, along with divyang-friendly approach roads and rainwater harvesting facilities. Infrastructure such as a main entrance gate, protective boundary wall, and a laser show installation was also proposed.Fadnavis directed officials to ensure that tourist facilities at Hanuman Gadhi are completed first and that the works are executed to quality standards. He also instructed that the construction of the Hanuman idol, which is expected to be the central attraction of the site, should be completed on priority. He said there will be no shortage of funds for the project, and asked officials to complete the works within the prescribed timeline.Ministers Jayakumar Gore and Ashish Jaiswal, along with MLAs Pratap Adsad, Pravin Datke, and Ravi Rana, were present at the meeting.
