Two bikers rob collection agent of factory’s ₹5L, personal phone on Ludhiana’s Noorwala Road.

Ludhiana: Two masked motorcycle bandits robbed a factory collection agent of more than ₹5 lakh, his phone, and his wallet in a targeted ambush on Noorwala Road.

Jaswinder Singh, 45, was on his weekend collection rounds for a local garment manufacturer when the thieves intercepted his motorcycle. The attackers struck him with a blunt weapon, seized his phone and wallet, and discovered a bag containing the cash before fleeing the scene.

To prevent a pursuit, the robbers also stole Jaswinder Singh’s ignition keys. “I think they were initially just mobile snatchers,” he said, noting that the thieves only noticed the cash bag after taking his personal belongings.

The collection agent used a passerby’s phone to alert his employer, who then contacted the cops.

Assistant sub-inspector Ranjeev Kumar said police had invoked snatching laws under Section 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and reviewed CCTV footage that had captured the masked suspects.

When asked if the robbery was an inside job, the ASI stated it was too early to tell.

“The police are probing the case from all angles,” Kumar said.
