RWA opposes LDA move to sell parking slots
Lucknow: The Residents Welfare Association of Sargam Apartments in Jankipuram has opposed LDA decision to sell 136 open parking slots through a lottery and has sought immediate withdrawal of the process.
In a memorandum submitted to the LDA vice-chairperson, the RWA said the housing complex had been handed over to residents in July 2025 and that the open parking area forms part of the common facilities. It contended that the authority no longer has the right to sell these spaces.
The association said the open area is used for community functions and recreational activities and questioned the need for additional parking, claiming that flats already have basement parking allocations. It also expressed concern that extensive parking in the open area could affect the movement of emergency vehicles such as fire tenders and ambulances.
