No police permission for RaGa rallies in Kol, Serampore

Kolkata: Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's rallies in Kolkata and Serampore, scheduled on April 23, have been stalled after Congress failed to secure police permission for the said rallies.Pradesh Congress netas planned three rallies in Kolkata and Serampore for Gandhi. For the Kolkata rallies, nods had been sought for either Ramlila Park in Entally or Park Circus ground, and Metiabruz. Another permission was sought for Serampore stadium."Police have not given permission for a single rally. It is surprising how cops denied nods while other parties are allowed to hold rallies," said Pradesh Congress general secretary Roahan Mitra. Bengal minister Shashi Panja said, "Application for meetings needs to be sent through Suvidha portal, 2-7 days before meeting. Caretaker govt can't answer for cancellation of his visit, EC can answer that."
