10 Bangladeshi nationals held in Koc for illegal stay

Kochi: Palarivattom police on Thursday arrested 10 Bangladeshi nationals for illegally staying in the country. Acting on a tip-off, police took them into custody from a rented house at Karanakodam.

Police said the group had been staying in the city for several weeks and were engaged in collecting and selling scrap materials. Documents showing Bangladeshi citizenship were recovered from them. Sources said the group allegedly reached Kochi by train. Preliminary information suggests that the arrested are aged between 22 and 40. Police are questioning them and are also examining the documents found in their possession.
