Over 60 Sikar beneficiaries under CBI radar in NEET-UG 2026 paper leak probe
Jaipur: The Central Bureau of Investigation has brought more than 60 suspected beneficiaries from Rajasthan’s coaching hub Sikar under scrutiny in its probe into the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, with notices likely to be issued soon to them for questioning.
Investigators are examining financial transactions, phone records and communication links involving candidates, their families and alleged racket operators as the probe expands beyond kingpins and middlemen. Officials said the agency is now focusing on candidates who allegedly paid large sums to obtain the leaked question paper before the examination.
Though the CBI has not officially confirmed the exact number of beneficiaries identified in Rajasthan, sources said a significant number are from Sikar. “Names of several beneficiaries surfaced during interrogation of the arrested accused; these names are being verified,” a senior officer said Monday.
Officials said the agency may consider turning some beneficiaries into approvers if they cooperate and provide key information about the racket’s functioning and money trail. The investigation intensified after the arrest of three members of the Biwal family from Sikar — brothers Dinesh Biwal and Mangilal Biwal, and Mangilal’s son Vikas Biwal. During questioning, investigators reportedly obtained details of candidates who received the leaked paper through the network.
The CBI is also searching for Rishi Biwal, son of accused Dinesh Biwal, who is alleged to have had access to the leaked paper before the NEET exam. Investigators said Dinesh Biwal paid around Rs 10 lakh to procure the paper for his son. Despite the alleged advance access, Rishi Biwal scored only 107 out of 720 and did not qualify, according to CBI sources. Investigators are also reviewing his academic record. Sources said scrutiny showed he scored 254 out of 500 marks, or 50.8%, in the RBSE Class 12 examination, allegedly after receiving grace marks, with weak theory scores in Physics and Chemistry.
