Indian Army showcases advanced tech capabilities in desert warfare during Rajasthan review

JAISALMER: The Indian Army conducted demonstrations in Rajasthan showcasing how emerging technologies are being used to enhance situational awareness, decision-making, and operational efficiency in desert warfare conditions.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Southern Command, Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, carried out a strategic visit to forward desert areas, where he reviewed the operational preparedness and technological advancements of the Golden Katar Division.



The visit highlights the Indian Army’s continued focus on strengthening combat readiness in challenging terrains and evolving warfare scenarios.

During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the division’s efforts to adopt advanced technologies and integrate them into field operations. A key focus was on refining Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) through the use of modern systems, including surveillance, communication, and battlefield management tools.

Senior officers of the Golden Katar Division presented demonstrations showing how emerging technologies are being used to improve situational awareness, decision-making, and operational efficiency in desert conditions. These efforts reflect a proactive approach to adapting to future conflicts, where technology-driven warfare is expected to play a crucial role.

The GOC-in-C praised the formation for its forward-looking approach and innovative practices aimed at improving combat capability. He stressed the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and coordination between traditional military skills and modern technology to maintain an edge on the battlefield.

Interacting with troops in forward areas, the Army Commander appreciated their high morale, professionalism, and dedication to duty under harsh desert conditions.

He also reiterated the Army’s commitment to providing optimal training, infrastructure, and resources for personnel deployed in operational areas.

The visit concluded with a reaffirmation of the Indian Army’s focus on transformation and modernisation, in line with the demands of future warfare.
