All India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton tournament: Sairaj Nayse-Satya Chauhan qualify for main draw
Sairaj Nayse and Satya Chauhan qualified for the main draw in the All India Sub-Junior (U-15 & U-17) Ranking Badminton tournament being played at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Nagpur’s Sairaj and his partner Satya (Mumbai) trounced CP Harikumar and Jeswin Surya Venkataraman 15-9, 15-6 in the fourth and final qualifying round to clinch a place in the U-17 boys doubles main draw.
The Maharashtra pair Sairaj-Satya thumped Devashish Prajapat and Vinay Pratap Singh 15-8, 15-11 in the third round on Monday.
In the earlier two rounds, Sairaj-Satya downed Durga Prasad Shetty-Diptyanshu Sharma and V Rithvik and B Ramkumar, respectively.
Sairaj and Satya, trainees of Arundhati Arun Badminton Academy, will face S Varun Nair and Muhammed Nazmi in the main draw. Fifteen-year-old Sairaj Nayse is being supported by AU Bank Foundation.
