GURGAON: The Haryana government has decided to temporarily suspend all fresh stilt plus four-storey building plan approvals, including all pending applications, across the state.
An order to this effect was issued by the directorate of town and country planning on Thursday, a day after chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced that the policy allowing stilt plus four floors on residential plots had been kept in abeyance till a panel of experts gave its suggestions on it.
“It is hereby ordered that no new stilt plus four building plans shall be sanctioned till further orders,” said the order issued by TL Satyaprakash, the director general of town and country planning.
The directorate has, however, clarified that all the earlier sanctioned stilt plus four-storey building plans shall remain valid. Earlier, the government had stayed the construction of stilt plus four floors only in Panchkula.
In addition to this, permissions for ground plus two floors and stilt plus three floors can be applied as per the prevailing guidelines. These orders shall apply to all departments across the state, including the town and country planning, Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, the urban local bodies and HSVP.
Addressing the assembly on governor’s address on Wednesday, Khattar said that a committee had been formed and all the associations and RWAs will be heard on the issue by the panel before it submits its findings, and only after that a final decision will be taken.
Residents of the city have been demanding the ban on the construction of the fourth floor allowed by the state government through a policy amendment in 2019, citing a burden on the existing infrastructure and civic amenities.
