MCM sets April 27 deadline for Manesar land survey

Gurgaon: The Municipal Corporation of Manesar (MCM) has set April 27 as the deadline to complete the ongoing digital land survey under the Centre’s ‘Naksha’ project, with officials urging residents to cooperate with field teams to ensure accurate records. At a review meeting on Thursday, the MCM commissioner, Pradeep Singh, assessed the progress of the exercise and directed survey teams to expedite work.

Officials said the survey, which is being carried out across villages, residential sectors and commercial areas, is aimed at preparing a digital database of all land parcels in Manesar.

Teams are visiting properties to collect ownership documents and map land using drones and other technical tools. The data collected on the ground is being verified with existing revenue records, with patwaris deployed to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Manesar is among a few urban local bodies in Haryana where the pilot project is being implemented. Singh said, “Land records in urban areas are being digitised under the central govt’s pilot project. In Haryana, this has been initiated with municipal corporations of Manesar and Panchkula and Narnaul municipal council. The general public will directly benefit from this survey. Urban land management will increase public trust and promote infrastructure development.”

The MCM officials said the project is part of the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme and is expected to bring greater transparency in land-related matters. Once completed, residents will be able to access clearer digital records of their properties, while authorities expect it to help in checking encroachments and reducing disputes.

The municipal corporation has appealed to property owners to share relevant documents related to land, houses, plots, etc. with survey teams when approached, warning that lack of cooperation could lead to gaps or errors in the final records.
