Russian found dead at Mandrem

PANAJI: A Russian tourist died after he fell into a roadside drain at Mandrem, on Wednesday. As per eye-witnesses, the Russian, identified as Alexandre, 43, was spotted losing his balance and falling into the drain.

Locals gathered around to assist the tourist and later shifted him to a government hospital for treatment. However, the doctors declared him brought dead. The reason for his demise is still unknown and the cause will be ascertained only after an autopsy is carried out, police said. Further investigations are on by Pernem police.
