Goa concludes 1st houselisting Census using digital app

Panaji: The Phase-I of Census 2027, House Listing Operations (HLO), held from April 16 to May 15 in Goa, was completed recently.

For the first time, the Census was carried out across the state using a dedicated mobile application. Preparations for the next phase of Census 2027 are in progress and further details will be announced separately, officials said.

Extensive training programmes were organised prior to commencement of the first phase of Census to familiarise field staff with the digital application.

During this first phase, data on housing conditions, household amenities and assets possessed by households were collected.

“The information collected will provide an important statistical foundation for planning, governance, infrastructure development, and implementation of welfare programmes, the directorate said.
