Kamal Haasan welcomes Tamil Nadu govt’s Singappen STF initiative for women’s safety

CHENNAI: MNM president and Rajya Sabha member Kamal Haasan welcomed the Tamil Nadu govt’s initiative, ‘Singappen’ special task force for women’s safety in the state.

In a post on social media, Kamal said it was heartening to note that the 'Singappen' special task force has been launched with the slogan 'No compromise on women's safety.' He added that it was gratifying to note the announcement made by the chief minister C Joseph Vijay that approximately ₹354 crore would be allocated for the initiative and 2,500 new jobs would be created.

“I wholeheartedly welcome this excellent initiative taken by the govt. I sincerely hope that these announcements will be put into practice and serve as a protective fortress for every single woman," he said.
