Punjab trains 650 officials ahead of voter list revision drive
Chandigarh: The office of Punjab chief electoral officer (CEO) Anindita Mitra has trained nearly 650 election officials from all 117 assembly constituencies ahead of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls, scheduled to begin on June 25.The three-day state-level training programme, which concluded on Wednesday, covered officials from all 23 districts, including Additional District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Election Tehsildars, District Master Level Trainers and technical staff.Mitra said the training was aimed at preparing officials for the house-to-house enumeration exercise that forms part of the voter list revision process."With the completion of this training, the department is fully prepared to conduct SIR in the state," she said.She added that training programmes for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) would be conducted across Punjab from June 11 to June 24.
