PU opens online admissions
Chandigarh: Panjab University will launch its online enrollment drive this week, opening portals for thousands of hopeful applicants eyeing undergraduate and vocational qualifications for the upcoming academic year.
Prospective undergraduate students can submit applications starting Wednesday, June 3, while portal access for postgraduate admissions, specialized diplomas, and advanced research streams will go live the following week on June 10.
University administrators confirmed that all applicants, including those who sat for campus entrance examinations between April and June, must file formal digital admission profiles to be considered for placement.
Vice-chancellor Professor Renu Vig unveiled the academic year prospectus on Tuesday alongside senior faculty executives, urging applicants to list multiple subject preferences due to highly competitive quotas.
Admission streams vary by discipline. Placements for the university’s flagship engineering tracks will be determined via national joint selection protocols using the JEE Main framework. Meanwhile, specialized postgraduate departments—spanning journalism, technology, and advanced science—will pool candidates through the institution’s proprietary common entrance screening.
Additional vocational and fine arts programs, including performing arts and lifestyle technology, will bypass traditional testing metrics in favor of practical talent auditions and aptitude portfolio reviews.
Official application portals can be accessed directly at ugadmissions.puchd.ac.in for undergraduate tracks and onlineadmissions.puchd.ac.in for postgraduate programs. Candidates seeking consideration under athletic or sports quotas must submit physical accreditation certificates to the campus sports office prior to the July deadlines.
