Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi and his deputies Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida attended an NDA meeting convened by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi in New Delhi to mark the completion of 12 years of his tenure.
Calling it "historic milestone", Majhi, in a post on X, said, "4,399 days of transformative leadership… India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister. Committed to a stronger, self-reliant and developed Bharat.”
Majhi, who is on a two-day visit to the national capital, will also attend the Niti Aayog Governing Council meeting to be chaired by the PM on Thursday.
Parida said she attended the NDA functionaries’ meeting at Bharat Mandapam and described Modi as a “visionary leader” whose commitment to governance and nation-building continues to inspire millions. She, along with Union minister Jual Oram, also shared moments from a brief ‘jhal muri’ break during the meet.
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan referred to a standing ovation accorded to Modi by the Cabinet, saying it reflected the trust of 1.4 billion Indians in his leadership. ‘His commitment to the nation and concern for every citizen have always been a source of inspiration,” he wrote on social media.
State BJP president Manmohan Samal said Modi’s 4,399 days in office — surpassing Jawaharlal Nehru’s 4,398 days as Prime Minister — marked not just a personal milestone but a collective endorsement of his leadership by the people of the country.
He described the period as a testament to “service, good governance and unwavering resolve”. Achieving women’s empowerment, youth development, farmers’ prosperity, digital revolution, rapid infrastructure growth, self-reliance in defense and unprecedented success in space science, India has risen to new heights on the global stage with self-confidence and respect under PM Modi’s leadership, he said.
