Namma Metro Pink Line trials from April 28
Bengaluru: Critical tests by Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) of Namma Metro's Pink Line will begin Tuesday, with inspections scheduled till May 12.According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials, after the inspection, RDSO will analyse test data and issue an interim speed certification. This will be followed by inspection by the commissioner of Metro railway safety (CRS), whose report will be submitted to the chief commissioner of railway safety and subsequently to railway board for technical sanction for the new rolling stock.The multi-stage clearance process is expected to take two to three months. After securing clearance, BMRCL will approach the commissioner of Metro railway safety (CMRS) for authorization for opening the line.So far, BMRCL has received five train sets for the 7-km elevated stretch between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere. The 21-km corridor from Kalena Agrahara to Nagawara, including the underground section from Dairy Circle to Nagawara, is scheduled for completion by this year-end.Yellow Line (RV Road-Bommasandra) Monday received its 10th train set from Titagarh Rail Systems. Eight trains are currently operational on the line; testing of the ninth train will commence shortly.
