Land grabbing case against Karnataka minister M Krishnappa

has grabbed government land to the extent of 4 acres and 20 guntas adjoining the

Byrasandra lake

in Jayanagar ward. However, the minister vehemently denied the allegations.

Ramesh said he has filed a case in this regard with the Special court on land grabbing (prohibition) in Bengaluru apart from a complaint lodged with the Bangalore metropolitian task force (BMTF).

Addressing the media, Ramesh said the minister and another private person named Mustaq had grabbed BDA land and started work on creating a layout under the name of Blue Jay Aristo, which is located just besides the fire station in the vicinity of Jayanagar ward.

“The minister and the private person have created false documentation in the name of poor farmers for grabbing this prime property,” alleged Ramesh.

According to Ramesh, the property allegedly grabbed by Krishnappa is worth more than Rs 350 crore, considering the value of per square feet of land in the vicinity being close to Rs 18,000.

“I have already filed a case in this regard, on Thursday, with the special court on land grabbing (prohibition) and also with the BMTF. I have no personal agenda except for the social cause,” claimed the former corporator, and husband of present Yediyur BJP corporator Poornima Ramesh.

When sought for reaction, minister Krishnappa rubbished the allegations and said he had nothing to do with Blue Jay Aristo layout.

“I have no association with this Blue Jay Aristo layout. But, I can say that this Blue Jay Aristo layout is being constructed on eight BDA sites which has been reconverted by the authority. The layout is being constructed after having purchased with third party sale deeds in possession. The allegations against me are absolutely false,” said the minister.

Krishnappa said Ramesh has a habit of presenting “hit and run” cases against the Congress leaders and that he will take legal action against the BJP leader.

Meanwhile, at the press conference held by Ramesh, a war of words broke out with representatives of Krishnappa and his lawyers trying to scuttle the meet and providing immediate clarification on behalf of the minister.
