LuLu Launches Malabar's Premier Shopping Destination in Kozhikode
In a significant boost to the commercial development of Malabar, LuLu Group India has inaugurated its latest shopping mall in Mankavu, Kozhikode. The grand launch of the state-of-the-art LuLu Mall marks a key milestone in the region's economic resurgence and promises to revolutionize the shopping experience in northern Kerala.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Kerala’s Minister for Public Works and Tourism, P.A. Mohammed Riyas, who applauded LuLu Group Chairman M.A. Yusuffali for his efforts in promoting industrial growth in the state.
The event was further highlighted by Kozhikode Mayor Beena Philip, who performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of several high-profile dignitaries, including P.K. Kunhalikutty MLA, Ahamed Devarkovil MLA, Thottathil Ravindran MLA, BJP State President K. Surendran, Deputy Mayor C.P. Musafar Ahamed, and other key officials from the Lulu Group.
Yusuff Ali M.A., Chairman of the LuLu Group, expressed his satisfaction during the inauguration, stating, “This new venture marks a significant step towards the modernization of Kozhikode. It has not only driven local development but has also created job opportunities for over 2,000 individuals.” He also revealed that the group has future plans to launch large-scale projects in the Malabar region similar to those established in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.
With an investment of 800 crore, the 3.5 lakh-square-foot mall, located in Mankavu, is situated within a vibrant residential area and offers proximity to key local centers. Spanning three floors, the mall features 1.5 lakh sq. ft. LuLu Hypermarket, LuLu Fashion Store, LuLu Connect, and an exclusive children's gaming arena named Funtura. The Hypermarket offers a comprehensive range of products, from everyday groceries to gourmet delicacies and fresh farm produce, ensuring a wide range of global products under one roof. The Fashion Store showcases the latest fashion trends with a wide selection of international, national, and regional brands. LuLu Connect will elevate the shopping experience for electronics and home appliances, featuring the latest innovations and best deals. The mall's amenities are further enhanced by a vibrant multi-cuisine food court and an engaging 10,000 sq ft gaming area for children. The food court, with seating for over 500, offers a variety of culinary options from beloved brands including KFC, ChicKing, Pizza Hut, Baskin Robbins alongside fusion restaurant Flame ‘n’ Go and the Starbucks. Boasting an array of nearly 50 national and regional brands spread across its expansive floors, including renowned brands such as Tissot, Skechers, SWA Diamonds, Celio, Levi’s, US Polo, Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Poshe Salon and Lens & Frames, LuLu Mall Kozhikode promises unmatched shopping experience and sophistication.
Additionally, the mall is equipped with five self-checkout counters and 1,800 dedicated parking spaces for convenience.

BJP State President K. Surendran emphasized the economic potential of the Lulu Group’s projects in cities like Kozhikode, noting that the group's success across various parts of India is a positive indicator for the city’s future growth.
Kozhikode Mayor Beena Philip also remarked on the importance of such projects in attracting IT companies and boosting the city’s Happiness Index. "This mall caters to the needs of the new generation and represents the kind of development that will draw more investment to Kozhikode," she said.
Looking ahead, the LuLu Group has announced several upcoming projects in cities such as Kottayam, Tirur, and Perinthalmanna. Major developments are also planned for Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Gurugram, as the group continues its expansion across India with new shopping malls, hypermarkets, and food processing centers in Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Jammu & Kashmir. With this new mall, Kozhikode joins the ranks of other major cities like Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Hyderabad, where Lulu Group has already established a strong presence.
