Vinfast VF MPV 7 India launch soon: Five things you need to know
Vinfast India has just opened the pre-bookings for the new Vinfast VF MPV 7 electric MPV. Interested customers can book the EV online or by visiting their nearest dealership. The launch is part of VinFast’s global expansion plans and reflects its focus on India’s growing electric vehicle market, particularly in the MPV segment. The VF MPV 7 is expected to be positioned as a practical offering with an emphasis on space, usability and features as competition in the segment increases. Full specifications for the India-spec model are yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to follow the brand’s global design and technology approach with changes for local requirements. The model is also likely to support VinFast’s entry strategy alongside its planned manufacturing and sales operations in the country. Here are five things to know about the VinFast VF MPV 7.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Design
In terms of design, the VinFast VF MPV 7 features a boxy, upright design similar to the VF6 and VF7, adapted for MPV proportions. It gets vertically stacked LED headlamps and a full-width LED light bar at the front that meets at the centre with the VinFast logo, along with a clean bumper design. The side profile is defined by a long wheelbase, extended roofline and large glass area, along with 19-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels and slim black cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors. The India spec model could feature smaller 18-inch wheels for better comfort and additional chrome elements are also expected to be incorporated. At the rear, it continues with a full-width LED light bar similar to the front DRLs, paired with a simple tailgate and a black-finished bumper.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Interior and layout
Moving inside, the EV MPV will get a functional cabin layout focused on space and usability, with a minimalist dashboard. It is likely to use leatherette upholstery and soft-touch materials, with metallic accents and a two-tone finish. It will feature a seven-seat layout with three rows with electric adjustment for front seats and reclining second row seats. Boot space is expected to vary with seat configuration, with foldable rear seats allowing expansion up to around 1,240 litres.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Expected features
In terms of features, the EV MPV is expected to get a large 10.1-inch touchscreen that also doubles as the instrument cluster, HUD display, connected car tech, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, automatic climate control, PM2.5 air filter, a 4-speaker sound system, type C charging ports, push button start and more. Safety features will include multiple airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control, stability control, electronic parking brake, hill hold assist, and level 2 ADAS is also expected.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Battery, range
The company has not yet disclosed specifications for the India-bound version, including details related to the battery pack, driving range and motor output. However, the global-spec model is powered by a 60.13kWh battery pack paired with a front-axle-mounted e-motor with 201hp and 280Nm. Its NEDC-claimed range is 450km and can sprint from 0-100 kph in 10 seconds. The battery supports up to 80kW DC fast charging, with a claimed 10 to 80 per cent charge time of 30 minutes. The India-spec version is expected to retain similar powertrain specifications.
VinFast VF MPV 7: Bookings, launch date
Interested customers can book the MPV online or by visiting their nearest dealership by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000. The prices will be announced on April 15, 2026 and are expected to be offered in three variants. Deliveries of the seven-seat MPV are expected to begin soon after launch. The VinFast VF MPV 7 will compete with other three-row models such as the Kia Carens Clavis EV, BYD eMax7 and Mahindra XEV 9S.
