Mercedes-Benz has globally revealed the 2024 Mercedes-AMG SL 63 E Performance drop-top roadster. The SL 63 E Performance sits above the standard SL 63 and will go on sale in 2024.

In terms of design, the SL 63 S E Performance features a sharp and aggressive design with sleek LED headlights and with AMG parametric grille. Below it gets large air dams on both ends and it also gets multiple aerodynamic elements.

​At the rear, it gets sleek and sharp LED taillights with a charger flap integrated into the rear bumper along with red badging on the fenders and boot lid.

The drop-top roadster also gets aerodynamically designed 20-inch alloy wheels. Customers can also opt for bigger 21-inch wheels and the car also gets active elements in the nose and active rear spoiler.

The SL 63 E Performance also gets AMG Active Ride Control as standard with active dampers and a hydraulic-based semi-active roll stabilisation system. Mercedes claims that this helps in minimising the body roll and help maintain optimum wheel camber during cornering.

Moving inside, the SL 63 E Performance gets electrically adjustable AMG sports seats and it also offers optional AMG Performance seats with integrated headrests and ventilated seats. It gets three massage modes and it gets upholstery options which includes a single and two-tone Nappa leather.

The roadster gets AMG specific steering wheel and it also gets fully digital instrument cluster with a large touchscreen infotainment system with hybrid-specific graphics. The SL 63 E Performance also gets additional drive modes such as - “Electric”, “Battery Hold”, “Comfort”, “Smoothness”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “RACE”, and “Individual.

Talking about the engine, the SL 63 E Performance gets a 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo engine paired with electric motors. The V8 puts out 604 bhp and 850 Nm of torque and the rear-axle mounted electric motor puts out 201 bhp and 320 Nm and combined it puts out 804 bhp and up to 1420 Nm of torque.

The electric motor comes paired with a 6.1 kWh battery pack that also sits on the rear axle and Mercedes claims it has an electric-only range of up to 13 km.

Mercedes claims that the roadster can sprint from 0-100 kph in just 2.9 seconds and the top speed is rated at 317 kmph. The engine comes paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all four wheels.
