Total Lunar Eclipse 2026: When, where and how to watch this Chandra Grahan
One of the biggest events - Lunar Eclipse is going to take place on March 3, 2026. This will be a rare celestial event and people are super excited to witness this phenomenon tomorrow. This will be total lunar eclipse and all the sky watchers and astronomers are excited because this event will be visible in India and they would be able to witness it and capture this event. Let's know more about this celestial event:
When Earth passes directly between the Sun and the Moon, its shadow is cast across the lunar surface, causing a lunar eclipse. This alignment is only possible when the moon is full. The moon appears red at totality because of Rayleigh Scattering, which is the Earth's atmosphere's variable dispersion of all color ranges in inverse proportion to their wavelength. Because red is less diffused than other colors, it falls on the moon and gives it a crimson appearance.
The total lunar eclipse is scheduled for March 3, 2026, according to a notice from India's Ministry of Earth Sciences. With the exception of a few locations in the Northeast and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, where the eclipse's totality phase will also be visible, the majority of India will witness the lunar eclipse's end at moonrise. According to the India Meteorological Department, the eclipse will be visible for up to 31 minutes in locations like Chennai and Kanniyakumari.
1. You are advised to choose a pollution free area or find a location where the sky is clear and you can witness the Chandra Grahan.
