In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Aamir Khan opened up about being the 'voice' of a canine narrator in Dil Dhadakne Do. The actor admitted that the director took him by surprise with this last-minute offer to voice-play the role. When she invited him to a screening of her film, he'd assumed that she just wanted his opinion, the report stated. After they had finished watching the film, she told the actor that she wanted him to do the voice-over for Pluto who claims to be "only sane member of the Mehra family," the report further stated. "Javed saab (Pluto's dialogue writer and Zoya's father Javed Akhtar) had written the lines and spoken them in the cut that we watched. Zoya wanted me to dub the lines," Aamir said to Mirror. "There was no time to think. I trusted Zoya blindly so if anyone likes my work, the credit goes to her. And if they don't, it's also her fault," chuckled Aamir. "Now, Kiran and I have two cats and a dog called Imli.
