Joe Biden (77). In the US, while a candidate needs to be just 35 years old to become a president, history shows that voters have typically elected much older candidates. Just nine of the 45 US presidents took the oath of
office
before their 50th birthday, while as many as 25 presidents were between the ages of 50 and 60 years.
John F. Kennedy was the youngest elected president at 43 years 236 days. But after William McKinley's death, the
record
went to Theodore Roosevelt who became the youngest president at 42 years 322 days.

Donald Trump is the oldest President to be sworn-in at the age of 70, but that might change if Biden is elected. Previous record holder was Ronald Reagan who was 69 when he was sworn-in.
