Illegal Indian migrant shot dead in US store

Maninder Singh, an illegal immigrant into the US hailing from Karnal district, was shot dead in a California town on Saturday. The 29-year-old from Uplana village worked at a departmental store in Whittier, southern California, and is survived by his elderly parents, wife, eight-year-old daughter, and five-year-old son.
Maninder, who had gone to the US in June 2019, was shot dead by a robber who barged into the store and fled after committing the crime.
