The Sidemen Charity Match 2026 lineup is out, but many fans quickly noticed something missing. Some of the biggest names like MrBeast, IShowSpeed, and Logan Paul are not part of this year’s event. As soon as the teams were revealed, people started asking the same question: why are these creators not playing this time?
Now, the Sidemen themselves have shared the reason. During a recent episode of their SideChat podcast, they spoke openly about the absences. While some fans were disappointed, the explanation shows that it is not about drama or conflict. It mostly comes down to timing, personal plans, and availability.
Sidemen explain MrBeast, IShowSpeed and Logan Paul absence as Miniminter and Zerkaa share real reasons on SideChat
Simon “Miniminter” Minter and Josh “Zerkaa” Bradley explained the situation clearly during SideChat Episode 234. They said that IShowSpeed was invited but could not fully commit this time. Miniminter said, “People know that Speed isn’t playing. He has said no.”
Zerkaa added a bit more detail and made it sound less final. He said, “He hasn’t fully said no. We asked him, he has a reason he can’t do it, but there’s a chance he could.”
So, there is still a small possibility that Speed might show up later, but nothing is confirmed yet.
When it comes to Logan Paul, the reason is more clear. He will be busy with WWE WrestleMania, which is scheduled around the same time. Because of that, he cannot take part in the charity match this year.
Kai Cenat was also discussed. According to Miniminter, Kai asked if someone else could replace him, but that request was not accepted. So, he is also out of the lineup.
As for MrBeast, the answer was simple. Miniminter said, “MrBeast has said no.” There was no long explanation given, but it seems like he decided not to join this year.
Even with these big names missing, the event still has a strong lineup. Creators like Jynxzi, Ibai, JasonTheWeen, Stable Ronaldo, and Fanum are all confirmed to play. The Sidemen also teased a “mystery player,” which has added more curiosity around the match.
The Sidemen Charity Match has developed into its current form since its initial launch during the year 2016. The original event showcased mostly UK-based YouTube content creators together with their personal acquaintances. The event has transformed into its current form which features international content creators from various platforms to become one of the largest online football tournaments.
The match will bring exciting entertainment even without some known players who played in previous years. The upcoming match will include one undisclosed player who will introduce new elements to the event.
