ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has proposed holding talks with India next month to discuss the restoration of train services, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Masood Khan said Monday.
Pakistan would like to hold ''technical-level talks'' with India during the second half of September, Khan told reporters at a weekly news conference. He did not give a precise date.
All road, rail and air links were severed after a Dec.
13, 2001, attack on India''s Parliament by Islamic militants.
New Delhi blamed the attack on two Pakistan-based militant groups and Pakistan''s spy agency.
Both sides have been working in recent months to improve relations as a result of which a bus service between Pakistan''s eastern city of Lahore and New Delhi was restarted on July 11.
Full diplomatic ties have also been restored and discussions are on for resumption of air links.
