ISLAMABAD: The bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, which had started on April seven this year, may be called off for few weeks following the damage on the newly built route caused by the October eight earthquake.
In an interview to the Pakistani channel PTV, Construction Minister of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), Tariq said that the Muzaffarabad-Srinagar road was damaged severely near Chakoti which was hit by landslides.
Several other roads and bridges of PoK have also been damaged which would require weeks to get repaired and bring back life to normal, said the minister.
Also, the Aman Setu, the bridge on the line of control (LoC), had sunk due to Saturday's destructive 7.6-magnituted earthquake. About 80 percent houses of Muzaffarabad district have been damaged or destroyed...

According to Pakistan's official figures, the death toll in Saturday's quake might have crossed 40,000, with two provinces Punjab and North West Frontier Province (NWFP) being badly affected.
Pakistani army was also hit hard by the quake with 114 army personnel killed and 200 injured in Muzaffarabad, 86 killed in Rawalakot and an equal number in Bog besides 215 injured. Casualty in India is also reported to be close to 700 in Jammu and Kashmir.
The epicentre of the quake, said to be the worst in Pakistan in past 100 years, was recorded in Muzafarrabad - the PoK's Capital.
