Many Israeli ex-soldiers and reservists answered the call to return to service for the nation. Women are also serving as soldiers, journalists, and medical personnel in the war. The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have shared images and videos featuring these dedicated women officers actively participating in their duties.

Miki Dubery, a 23-year-old journalist who emigrated from the US to Tel Aviv two years ago, has been actively engaging with victims and reporting on the atrocities since the Hamas attack. She characterized the ongoing conflict as 'Terror versus Israel and Hamas versus the Palestinians'.

Moriah Mencer, a former IDF soldier, traveled to Israel to combat Hamas after one of her friends was killed in one of the attacks over the weekend. ​In a video from London's Heathrow airport, she said, "I've just found out that one of my friends has been murdered in her home two days ago. So we got the first flight we could."

​Zohar and Liron, a couple who miraculously survived the tragic Supernova music festival massacre in southern Israel on Saturday, wasted no time in responding to their call for reserve duty in the Combat Engineering Corps' reserve battalion.

Riya Muniasia



​Riya Muniasia, cousin of Nisha Muniasia, also hails from Gujarat. She has recently joined the IDF after finishing her school. Riya will be given a permanent command only after the completion of her training. The Muniasia family is proud as their daughters are serving the Israeli army during the war.

Nisha Muniasia



​Nisha Muniasia, who hails from Gujarat, is the in charge of the frontline unit in the IDF. She is currently posted in the Communication and Cyber Security department. Durin the recent 11-day conflict, Nisha was working on ground. Her father, Jivabhai Muniasia, said that Nisha enlisted in the IDF in accordance with Israel's mandatory military service program for citizens over the age of 18.

​IDF said they are preparing ​

After the Hamas's unprecedented attack inside Israel led to the death of hundreds of Israeli citizens, the IDF said they are preparing for a ground operation in Gaza but only if the final approval comes from the government. A war cabinet has been put in place on an emergency basis where Israel's opposition leader Benny Gantz joined hands with PM Netanyahu to prepare the path ahead.

In a televised address, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu detailed atrocities that took place during the attack. “We saw boys and girls bound, who were shot in the head. Men and women burned alive. Young women who were raped and slaughtered".

​​Warning sirens​

Warning sirens sounded in northern Israel on the sixth day of an unprecedented war. The military said it "launched an interceptor following an aerial identification" and was investigating the cause.

​The International Committee of the Red Cross is in contact with Hamas and Israel to try to facilitate the release of hostages taken into Gaza. The ICRC also believes that the humanitarian situation inside the Gaza Strip will very quickly become "unmanageable" without a way to get supplies into the besieged territory and distribute them.
