Bahrain: Indian mission warns against filming attacks
Amidst the threat of more airstrikes, the Indian embassy in Bahrain has called upon Indian nationals in the country to not make films or post videos including recording footage from military sites or any military action. Six South Asians – 5 Pakistanis and a Bangladeshi – have been arrested for filming attacks.
“Kindly, do not spread false information. You must not circulate or repost unverified videos or news about the conflict. You are aware that a ban on public gatherings in roads and public squares has been announced. Kindly follow this and contribute to public safety,” said Indian ambassador to Bahrain Vinod K Jacob in a video message.
“When sirens are sounded, please remain calm and move into the nearest safe place.
You have heard me many times requesting the entire Indian community in Bahrain to keep safe, obey the alerts, respect and follow the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Bahrain. I want to emphasize the same again,” he added.
In view of the current regional situation, all Indian nationals were advised to remain vigilant and take due care in a fresh advisory.
With the Bahrain airspace closed, the embassy is facilitating transit through Saudi Arabia, prioritising stranded Indian nationals, especially those on tourist or short-term visas. As per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for transit through Saudi Arabia, travellers must have a confirmed air ticket for onward travel to India and passengers must show the Note Verbale / formal note issued by the Indian embassy in Riyadh to Saudi immigration authorities at the checkpoint before entering Saudi Arabia.
