Why is Kapil's show better than Anupam Kher's show

Too much about Anupam Kher: The show is too much about Anupam Kher. The whole concept of the talk show is to call guests and talk about their lives. But Anupam Kher keeps going back to his life more than that of the guests. For every incident he shares some of his experience, which at times gets really dull. The guests who come on the show too end up talking a lot about Anupam Kher.

Anupam Kher needs to loosen up: Anupam Kher is a respected and well known name in the industry. We understand that he has been through a lot to reach where he is today, but to host a celebrity chat show, Anupam needs to loosen up a bit. He should use more witty one liners which will keep us glued to his show. His face and gestures are too serious to pull off a show like this.

Depressing conversations: Looks like Anupam Kher enjoys talking about everyone's difficult times. The focus on a celebrity's struggling period and the 'not so happy moments' is way too much. The conversation revolves much longer over the sad part of their life than the happy part. Even when a celebrity shares an entertaining moment from their life, Anupam Kher takes them back to their depressing phase and talks about it.

Serious set design: The set design is just not cool. The set gives you a very festive feeling. Too many lights and elaborate setting makes a very serious impact. So from the beginning itself you start feeling that its going to be all about serious talks. A little change in the set design would give the show a refreshing change.

Boring audience: When you have a show on similar lines comparisons are bound to happen. While the audience on Kapil Sharma's 'Comedy Nights...' are funny and entertaining, the audience on 'The Anupam Kher' show are more often than not very boring. Not only do they appear to be dumb but are also tight lipped when they are called on stage. At times even the celebrity guests tend to get irritated by their behaviour. Anupam Kher's show desperately needs witty audience.
