Rati Pandey on reuniting with Arjun Bijlani onscreen after 14 years: It’s wonderful to work with a co-actor I have always felt so comfortable with
Rati Pandey and Arjun Bijlani, who entertained audiences as Nupur and Mayank in Miley Jab Hum Tum, are reuniting after nearly 14 years. The duo has been cast to play a couple in an upcoming digital series.
A source from the production house shares, “Rati, known for her quintessential desi roles, will be seen in a completely different avatar this time. She’ll be sporting modern outfits, with a fresh look that’s unlike anything she’s done before. Her pairing with Arjun will be a treat for fans who loved their chemistry in Miley Jab Hum Tum.”
Sharing her thoughts on reuniting with Arjun, Rati says, “It feels wonderful to work again with a co-actor I was always so comfortable with. Arjun and I are both dedicated to our work, and we’ve always enjoyed shooting together. I’m thrilled to be sharing the screen with him once more.”
Earlier this year, the actress, who has been part of shows such as Hitler Didi, Begusarai, Porus, and Divya Drishti, made her Bhojpuri debut with Rang De Basanti. In a previous chat with us about her Bhojpuri film debut, she shared, “Being a Bihari, it has long been my desire to contribute to my region in our native language. The delay was due to the lack of a good opportunity. Unfortunately, the perception of Bhojpuri cinema, especially within our fraternity, isn’t positive. I understand the scepticism because certain portrayals have perpetuated this stereotype, and I want to debunk this myth.”
On being selective about TV roles, she told us, “I am who I am today because of TV. I’ve been the lead in nine shows but have never rushed into one project after another, which explains the gaps between my work. I want to be remembered as a versatile artiste and not just a television bahu, so I’m willing to wait patiently for a strong role to come my way.”
