‘Will provide 24-hour sunlight for this volcanic ashes’: Iceland cricket is having most fun after England offers to host India-Pakistan series

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has informally offered to be the hosts if India and Pakistan plan to play a bilateral Test series but BCCI sources said chances of that happening in near future is "next to nil".
The UK daily 'Telegraph' reported that "Martin Darlow, the deputy chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, has held talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board during the current Twenty20 series and offered England's grounds as venues for ideally a three-match Test series in future."
While the ECB has made the offer for its own commercial gains, the powers that be in the BCCI laughed off the suggestions and said that no such possibilities might arise at least in the next few years.
Amidst all this, Iceland Cricket Board decided to have fun at the offer made by ECB and made their own hilarious offer to host India-Pakistan matches via tweets on social media.
“We hear the ECB have offered to host a Test series between India and Pakistan. We officially announce to ICC that we are also offering to do the same & can provide near 24 hour daylight in June and July, as well as better Tweets covering the matches. Sniper security too,” tweeted ICeland cricket’s official handle tagging ICC and ECB.
Situated in North Europe and called one of the Nordic countries, Iceland is one of the few countries in the world to receive 24-hour sunlight on some days.
The quirkiness didn’t end there. Taking a step further, Iceland Cricket unevelived the trophy that will be handed over to the winner of India-Pakistan test series, naming it “volcanic ashes”.
“This is the Volcanic Ashes trophy for when Pakistan plays India in a 3 Test series here. It's currently given to the winners of our indoor club tournament, but we can create a new mickey mouse event & trophy for them. Filled with ash from our eruptions & set in a basaltic base,” the tweet read.
The blue-ticked verified Twitter handle clarified it was not a parody account and just liked to “gain enjoyment from cricket and not take it too seriously”.
